  • have my whole family in the gym now

my wife and i have been going but my girls always stayed home -

my youngest [ 10 years old ] is starting to get to thick for my liking and my oldest [ will be 16] has a great body for future figure but she is lazy i mean fucking lazy !!!!

so i told my wife i will change my training time to later so the girls can get there homework done and eat dinner but they are joining the gym !!!!

i have my 10 year old just doing cardio for 30 minutes then she can play with the other kids and i have my 16 year old training -- she trained with my wife and my training partners new girl for the first time monday -- they did light legs , stepups , lundges, extensions and some curls ,, my 16 year old can barely walk today but she liked it :) she has built this shell around herself so trying to open her up to more things -- shoulders tomorrow .. i will have her train beside me :weights:

    best 135 bucks a month i could spend !!

ha ha ha she loves to go -- really want them to grow up with training and staying in shape as a normal part of there lives --

i am not forcing them but they have no choice if that makes any sense :)

i really wish i had parents who were really into fitness.

glad to know you are making it a family event. it will create good memories. maybe your daughter might out-lift you one day. :P

thats good man. I wanted to train my brother for football. My parents were like no let the school do it. I was like he's 14. Kid needs to grow up and eat like a man and train like a monster

Nice to hear, Scott! It makes it much easier for you to go because it's now a family affair, and you can do it together.

It's also commendable that you are nipping the "thickness" of your 10 year old now. She will thank you later, and she seems to be enjoying it.

My 10 year old daughter is getting a little chubby. She is solid but getting a belly. I told her I want her to play football, she knocks me aroud pretty good...lol So you think 30 minutes of cardio is ok for her then? I want her to drop some lbs but at the same time I feel bad and dont want her to think she is fat or anything. Im gonna start taking her I think. So should she just stick with cardio or could she do some very light weights. I read that kids shouldnt lift anything past their shoulders.

Yes- you have to be very delicate in how you deliver it. It's already beat into girls heads from too young of an age that they need to look like Kate Moss. You need to present it as something that the two of you can do together...Like, "Hey- XYZ gym is having this new kickboxing class, and I think I'm going to do it. Do you wanna come & see if you can beat up your old man?" LOL.

If they are already self concious about being on the chubby side- a man or father who says something like "Let's go to the gym & do cardio" could really hurt her feelings. Girls need all the confidence in the world- especially at that age.

30 minutes of cardio is fine , the golds i go to has a kids section , cardio equipment and machines for lifting -

my 10 year old is now doing both -- i have her doing the cardio and she asked if she could train aswell so i showed her a setup on the machines they have for the kids .

make it enjoyable and they will look forward to going . my youngest loves it

She's GREAT. She's going to be 1 in less than 2 months!! :noo: By far the coolest thing I ever did...I will speak of the old cliche-they grow up so fast. Actually, what it really boils down to- kids just make you realize how fast time really does go by.

I'm still a little anxious from time to time...Like, how I would have a nervous breakdown if I ever couldn't provide for her. Almost still feel like a kid myself a lot... Like, I can't believe I'm 32 and have a child...I still feel so young. Or I ask myself "How did I get here?", and "Is this really my baby?" Partly because it took us so long, and the other part like "is this really my life- ALREADY?"

the speed of time is unreal !! i rmember when my first was born and she will be 16 in may and my youngest is 10 already !!

being a little anxious will always be there no matter how old they are .. it can be scary being a parent but wouldnt change it for anything
