They are 110% the most underappreciated workers, and unpaid. You foster a lot of resentment for the one who actually gets to go and talk about grown up things instead of dealing with Cheerios and diapers all day. True, you are raising a child, but definitely didn't feel like I was contributing to anything else like I do at work. My mom stayed home with both my sister & I, and I don't know how she did it. I would have gone nuts.

This was the most ass backwards thread I have seen in awhile. I can't believe some people (men) still think this way- go beat on your chest some more & see who comes running...

What if both people worked part-time jobs then?

I stated the person that stayed at home could have a part-time job but have it be one that is extremely flexible.

    Oh, I read it-

REGARDLESS of who stays home, man or woman- Why is it one or the other and not BOTH?? Marriage is about compromise & sacrifice, so I'm still waiting for an intelligent response to my first post.

Is the only rebuttal you have that I didn't read the indication that it didn't matter who stayed home, as long as someone did?

My comments apply to BOTH sexes. In fact, up until about 2 years ago, I DID make more than my husband, and said he wanted to stay home

Even my mom who stayed home with us said the perfect mix between home & work is to work 3 days a week outside the home because the person who stays home needs some other form of stimulation & gratification.

Cleaning, cooking & changing dirty diapers every day just doesn't cut it. :wack:

    1) Where does it say that a MAN is the provider? If the wife can make as good or better living why can't the man stay home?

    3) I don't know why one person has to have all specific responsibilities?? Just because the wife stays home, that means she has to ALWAYS cook, clean, & do laundry? I DON'T stay home, and I do those things- AND I go to the gym 5 days a week. Sonis cleans the dishes & does all the manly stuff. Oh, and the cleaning- it's called A CLEANING LADY.

Please tell me how two people in a PARTNERSHIP can't make it work? I understand that it's best for the CHILD if one person stays home. But, what if there are no kids??? Then what?

In all actuality, I think your comments about "no stress of a full time job" means no temptation, which can lead to infidelity, which can lead to divorce. Guess what- it's going to happen either way. And, it's much easier for a man or woman who stays home to stray than one who works full time.
