James Toney signed to UFC...WTF?!?!?

The Ultimate Fighting Championship didn’t become a billion-dollar enterprise by having its executives take crazy risks. The company was built methodically, with the larger goal always in mind.

But on Wednesday, the bus swerved sharply in a different direction when UFC president Dana White confirmed that the company had signed boxer James Toney to a multi-fight contract.

This is a win-win for the UFC.

Toney will draw some ratings at the very least. If he somehow brutally KOs whatever lower-tier fighter they serve him first, Dana will spin it as Toney being a serious stand-up threat. If Toney gets destroyed, Dana will spin it as saying it proves that MMA fighters are superior to boxers in a 'real fight' environment.

Good point except that last part you said...IMO if a boxer were to get destroyed and Dana saying MMA fighters are superior...Then put a boxer who's on top right now; like Floyd....not this fat ass.

You have to put a HW in there for the 1 punch KO if not they will just get takin down. you have a big dude like tony in there and people are not gonna be so quick to get in striking distance.
Remember tony is not a spring chicken and fat but he still knows how to hit and hit hard. with the MMA gloves he could easly put anyone to sleep
