  • Unspoken competition in the gym.

So since I started going to a diff gym I saw a guy I would of consider a friend; last time I saw him he was significantly bigger than me, but this time I was catching up to him. And he acted like a total dick -it was funny you could tell it was bothering him and he said something about my weight and I said yeah I have put on about 20 lbs and he goes 20 lbs ain't nothing; I just laughed it off knowing that it was eating him up, anyone else ever have funny shit like that happen?

Just between me and my buddies. We all lift in the same range and push eachother to stack on another plate or get that last rep. Helps with my diet too because if I dont eat right I'll get left behind.

The funny part of it was he helped me with my diet and my workout routines over the past couple years; why would you help someone then, when they see you good results they get jealous, makes no sense. People are nuts.

I get comments sometimes because my weight fluctuates so much. I train hard for 6 months and then for whatever reason, (usually work) i stop training and gear and lose 40lbs. Then 3 months later im back up again. Really fuks with your head sometimes.

Yea me and the guy I train with are like that. But, this was envy you could tell he was genuinely bothered.

I will rack it to having a bad day; stresses from life, but if I see him again and he acts the same way I am definitely gonna say what Big Scott said.

In this case I would just take it as for you as "job well done", if I was that dude I would say "I better kick it in the ass and buckle down to get some more gains for myself".

I have an unspoken competition with a couple of my employees that also workout. We get in and talk about about our workout from the prior day. If anyone thinks something is BS we go down at lunch and push each other a little (my company just built a decent enough fitness facility in our building for the employees). I think in my case it is just another way to keep me motivated.

i honestly don't know if anyone is talking because i keep my head phones on and head down in the gym.

if i am training with my boy he keeps his head phones on too. the worst thing you can do in the gym is stop and chat in between sets..
