He probably had a out of body experience. Deep in his own thinking. It turns your body in a zombie, and you don't pay attention to anything around you no matter what it is.

I've been there plenty of times. Usually during cardio on the machines. You just zone out and pay attention to the music and what your brain is telling you.

look at it like this, when you are driving somewhere today you will be behind someone. what are the chances that you happen to be behind that particular person? all the different things you did today compared to that person in front of you. so many things had to fall in line so that at an exact moment he happens to be in front of you. what are the chances of that?
