"Brothers" 15 minute judgement.

Brothers, with that guy and that other guy.

1. 2 minutes in I see that this film is based on a foreign film (that means the foreign film is most likely better).

2. Tobey Maguire as a tough Marine? He looks like a mannequin in every scene so far. I can't think of a good movie he has been in, and that EMO Spiderman was his nail in the coffin. He doesn't convince me as a war hero, he seems like a fucking robot.

3. Jake Gyllenhaal as a quick tempered, ex-prisoner, snake neck tattoo badass is just as bad for him. He just can't pull it off, he can't be that part.

Natalie Portman might can save it.

I will be renting "Brodre" the actual foreign film.

Don't worry about it, I watched about an hour and a half and never was interested. I can't believe people watched this thing at the theater, it just isn't good.

I thought the moive was moving. I'm not a Maguire fan and I kept thinking through the movie this kid sucks (because I kept thinking about Spiderman). But when he really starts losing his shit as a p.o.w and then comes home and tries to cope and starts losing his shit again....wow...he turns it up. Sure it's little slow and at times you just want to slap Gylenhal cuz he seems slightly retarded, but I think its worth watching in it's entirety. It's a non cgi, slower paced, honest and realistic movie.

Gave me chills thinking about the reality of his situation.

Don't listen to Turbo, he lets his holier than thou movie expertise, lmao, ruin decent movies.

Oh yeah, and Portman is beautiful. :)

Toby did turn it up when he gets back home, his acting in the second half is better then the first for sure. Jake's is never good, and Portman doesn't move me one bit in that film. She doesn't make me care about her one bit. One character acting well in the second half of a film doesn't make it a decent movie. It is watchable, something to watch on HBO or something on a boring night, but don't expect something great.

I am going to get the foreign film that they copied and watch it this week, I have a strong feeling that it is going to be better written and acted, but we will see.

And I don't have some holy attitude about movies, I just give my opinion, I admit I don't like most of what mainstream America likes, but I do watch a fair amount of movies, and like to express my views on them.
