Gold's Gym around here doing something really lame.

So as a marketing promotion the Gold's around here are putting up signs saying they are changing over to Average Joe's gyms.

I really don't get it, but I was told it's a marketing thing to get people talking about it. The logo looks just like the one from Dodgeball.

I hope to hell they got permission otherwise I smell lawsuit lol. I really don't understand how this is going to get people wanting to join the place.

It appeals to the mass - remember people on these boards (for the most part) are looking for what the gym offers for training, not so much how it "appears" to the outside. That's why planet fitness is swamped 24/7 - it has shit for lifting , bro place doesn't have a squat rack. But they advertise to get anyone from 12-80 years old who are remotely self conscious to come join.

Hopefully my Gold's Gym stays strong; purely weight lifting and pics all over the walls of bodybuilders; there are 2 gold's gym in relatively close proximity one is like a planet fitness and the other is for serious weight training; just an old warehouse with mostly old equipment. They did however come in with some new cybex equipment recently.

In order to usethe Gold's gym logo you have to pay a large annual fee, and need to sell a certain amount of their merchandise, your stuck with the shit that doesn't sell.
