the IQ test has it's history in eugenics and I'm not sure that it's come very far since...many of them are specific to a culture and time period and test things other than the capacity for intelligence. Of course, some are better designed than others.

Joining a "high-IQ" society is something usually left to folks who require external validation and the company of others as needy as themselves. Most of the really intelligent folks I know don't feel the need to proclaim it by joining a club and naturally attract other intelligent people with whom they can have conversations...MENSA is a scam.

I don't know much about the free masons. Honestly, your resume should be the sum of your accomplishments and should stand out because you stand out.

I'd include awards and those types of things, but things like Mensa wouldn't make much of a difference in hiring...it's sort of like listing your degrees after your name; sort of pretentious and unecessary, especially if everyone applying for the job has simmilar qualifications.

the very first IQ tests were designed to help determine which french children were in need of Special programs to help them graduate. you'll stick out if you fail to enter mensa.

that was the second round of IQ tests...the first ones were designed to prove that rich folk/aristocrats were smarter than poor folk.

It is safe to say that most of the early IQ tests were developed with an agenda...

oh right. although it wasn't the "formal" use of it that was among the motives.

kontiz, take the WAIS and tell me what you score on there. :)

you can find any psychologist in the area and just ask them to administer the test to you. you can't find legit copies outside of psychology offices.
