I find it funny how people stereotype and its always interested me, I love being the one that people can't quite work out. People like to be able to say thats so and so he likes this and this is what drives him but this is his weekness, kind of thing.

The other day I'm round a house party and in meeting people for the first time they're like, 'you must play rugby'!

you guys must get people saying 'hey you must play football' quite often

When I say no, the guy says why the hell not, with your build and strength you could be knocking people all over the park. Now my question is, why would that be any incentive for me? I mean why would I want to do that just because I could?

Another one is when people say, your a big fucker or your a big cunt, why the 'fucker' or 'cunt' bit? and they say it in a way as if to infer your dangerous or a gangsta or a bully or something?

Then when they find out that I'm actually a really placid guy that if anything prefers a quiet life its almost as if they are dissapointed, and sometimes people then try it on so I finish up having to assert myself verbally etc

Just makes me bemused at the oddity of the average persons mindset, they are so close off

I have to agree. The way I look, dress and move, I often get people labeling me as a dumb meathead. Eventually in a conversation, I'll get told "you probably don't understand this." I'll then pop off some stuff that demonstrates how wrong they are. The next thing I get asked is, "you're smart?"

It is amazing that simply because we take care of ourselves we must be idiots/dangerous/bullies/meatheads

Blame new jersey my friends: re - Bouncer. :D

It takes one rotten apple in all seriousness and boom, being bigger than the normal size is as if you automatically are "overcompensating" for something, truth is we love the iron, love what we do. Most people aren't driven like that, so they just hate on what they don't understand.

Insecurities of others, they want to live vicariously through you and are disappointed when you do fit into their fantasy.

I agree, you should play rugby :-) Greatest game ever.

I also know what you mean. For me it's a double whammy...I have (tasteful) tattoos on my arms and while I'm not up in the 240s anymore, I'm still about 220 and lean. This is all fine, but I work in a government office job, so I'm about as odd a man out as can be.

The other day I was in a meeting with our legal team and they asked "are you the one with the tattoos"...lol. I always reply that to get hired looking the way I do must mean that I'm so qualified that they couldn't find an excuse not to hire me.

everyone calls everyone cunt in UK, when I first heard it was like wtf, but to them its norm slang. Call a broad a cunt here and u get some verbal harrassment or bullshit.

I get stereotyped for being brown, lol. They think i am Al Quaida or some shit.

People usual say, "Oh man, you must workout a lot" that really doesn't bother me, just very annoying.

The same shit goes for people i don't really know that much, maybe met them once of twice and they come up to me and say, "I lost like 5lbs over the weekend because I didn't eat. Doesn't that piss you off?" Its gets annoying.
Or when they walk up to you and ask how you get a thick back or something. All that attention sucks, and i hate it.

I don't mind giving my friends advice, but the people i don't really know, it's annoying.

Around here it's the same way; people find it necessary to cover up their inferiority.
