Next time you watch the the "highlights" on sports center, see how many people dive for a ball that they could have caught by taking another step or two. You seen one home run you pretty much seen them all. For those catches made that keep a ball going for a HR, try catching that while someone else is trying to hit you or block you. I laugh at how winded ALL the players get after running a sprint around the bases. There is very little elite skill in baseball. It's mostly who practices the most. I was good at baseball growing up, but it was so boring to play and no real challenge. I just can't accept baseball being a "team" sport in the same sense as football, basketball, soccer, hockey, rugby... because most of the players on the field are not active in all the plays. The games are untimed so you can pretty much take as long as you need to get mentally ready each play. The pitcher has to wait for the batter to get ready and the batter has to wait for the pitcher to be ready. Other than the pitcher, batter and catcher, you could go innings without any other players doing anything. This is how I see it anyways and I don't know how that could get anyone excited or keep anyone entertained.Originally posted by Konitz View PostI knew you were gonna say that; don't ask me how but I knew your were gonna say that stupid insult to sports.

i would agree and disagree shib.
are they athletes like football, soccer, basketball, hockey etc.. no they arent.
BUT they are definitely skilled at what they do.
not everyone can be a pro baseball player no matter how hard they practice for it.
