In my bio class we're talking about the oil spill everyday. Our professor spends about 5 minutes bringing up new information about it. This is getting out of hand quickly. Check out this link that the NY Times posted. Its an interactive map that shows what has happened from the beginning of this oil spill.

Between May 1st and May 2nd, a lot was done. I applaud them

Sucks as Im in Southeast LA. and love the Seafood and this fucks up so much. We had raw Oysters at happy hour at a quarter a piece but I see they took that down today.......

I wouldnt say that it is unprecedented. Contractors do things like this all the time to try and stop groundwater from coming into sites. I'm kind of surprised it took them this long to figure out something like this.

I call shenanigans on that. There was a project up at Fort Drum where they were ~40 ft down and they had sheet piling the whole depth. This is just the first publicly documented time because it's involved in such a big story.
