Yes, and speaking up is the only way we can get corporate giants to at least think twice when making their decisions effecting the public. :agreed:

you wouldnt have said anything about kfc at all had they not offered the charity.

i view it as a little bit of biting the hand that feeds you.

lets say you are in a life or death situation and you need 25 grand asap to live.

some drug dealer friend of yours offers you the money. would you take it or give him a lecture about how he acquired the money?

let the company give money to a breast cancer charity and stfu. :D

that's stupid - that says does it matter how the money came around as long as it's been used well. Absolutely it matters, KFC's food is shitty for people - drug dealers sell products that overdose and destroy families, yes you do in a free country question the hand that feeds to some degree. :staypuff: continue

Has anyone seen their new "Chicken sandwiches"? Dude, talk about gross. Two big greasy pieces of fried chicken with cheese and bacon in the middle. I literally get nauseous watching those commercials

If it was October it wouldn't seem so questionable. Why did they pick breast cancer as their charity? Maybe if they explained that, it would go over smoother. Why are they only donating 50 cents for each bucket when it's generaly a dollar per, for corporate contributions? Probably because they have to use half of that dollar to get their money back on making pink buckets. It seems more about the gesture of caring is more important than actually helping.

how much money have you donated to help find a cure for breast cancer ??? who gives a fuck if its 50 cents .. add that country wide to the massive amounts of buckets that will be sold and it adds up quickly --

kfc is not the only company either -- i just bought sunchips and each bag bought donates towards the same thing as kfc's

How much money would qualify as enough so that I can have an opinion on the subject?

And as far as your sunchips How to tell if a pink-ribbon product really helps breast cancer efforts

Sometimes simply buying a pink product doesn't guarantee money will be given to breast-cancer causes. The shopper has to take an extra step, such as mailing in product lids or labels or registering online to generate income for charity. For instance, Yoplait products with pink lids support the Komen Foundation -- but only if you mail them in. Specially marked bags of Sun Chips carry a pink ribbon, but the 25-cent-per-bag donation to Komen is triggered only when the shopper goes to a Web site and enters a special code. Viva paper towels will donate $100,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, but if shoppers redeem a special coupon the company will donate an additional 10 cents, up to a total $200,000 donation.

So company's get there PR and you haven't done shit to help out unless you take the appropriate extra steps.

Some folks would complain if they were hung with a new rope.

A company is willing to donate money to charity.

What the fuck are you bitching about exactly?

That they get extra advertising from their marketing budget?

Big fucking deal, money is still going to the charity.

                            Holy shit.

And if you read the fine print in that KFC ad they clearly state their minimum contribution will be one million dollars.

A million fucking bucks to a charity from a company that didn't have to give shit.

So again....what the hell are you bitchin' about?

                                KFC's Buckets for the Cure

Current total contribution from KFC is over $3.7 million with a goal of $8.5 million.

How is this a bad thing?
