the reason why i have labeled him an asshole is because of this:

he has tainted the view of islam to the point where no one has anything good to say about it. the fact that he bases his actions as something that is accepted in the religion makes it seems like the religion is based around death and destruction. you can argue that people that aren't as ignorant as the general public understand that and isolate bin laden and his actions from the religion but for people who are susceptible to the media and other sources of "information" will always assume people who believe in islam are horrible.

if bin laden said "i take part in these actions of whatever because that is my PERSONAL interpretation of islam" then there wouldn't be an issue. and plus, he looks like a transvestite (at least the kind that live in pakistan and india)

i think he was trying to make a point about a leader regardless of if they are good or bad.

i understand his point about leadership but he is a little off.

hitler was leader as well as osama etc..

but you can also be a leader and a piece of shit.

All leaders do not lead. I am lumping Obama in with people like Bin Laden and Hitler here. They are not leaders, they are fear mongers. Leaders are people that put themselve at risk with the people they lead. They do not sit behind the lines, hiding like babies. Bin Laden DOES NOT FIGHT FOR SHIT, he has other people fight.

Real leaders take involvement in fighting for what they believe in. No leader is so important that a cause cannot do without him/her, not matter what you have been led to believe by modern media. Its not hard to instill fear and lead people in fear against an evil enemy. A true leader makes people follow him down a path that is not so simple. A path where right and wrong is blurred and a path where they themselves are at risk.

Bin laden, Hitler, and Obama created NOTHING, but a scape goat for peoples fear. Bin Laden, at the very least, (at one time) fought for something that isn't negative. The involvement of a third party government in the affairs of his holy land, however the way he fights is cowardly and by no means respectable. I suggest you reevaluate what defines a true leader in your mind. Anyone can lead out of fear and scape-goating, only a true leader can lead people down a righteous path. And yes, I can judge that path because I have never killed someone to defend what I believe in.

problem with all that is that you are bringing "good" and "bad" into the issue. its not about good or bad, right or wrong.
