So, why don't jersey girls pump their own gas?? And, if they don't pump it themselves, who does? Full service gas stations are a thing of the past...so, does that mean that any random schmuck who happens to be there has to step up to the pump?

the state legislature decided in 1949 that “because of the fire hazards directly associated with dispensing fuel, it is in the public interest that gasoline station operators have the control needed over that activity to ensure compliance with appropriate safety procedures.”
