i am trying to install a new head unit in my car and there is one, ONE fucking screw that is so tight i can't do it. :pissed: other than that, everything seems to be fine. down side is i had to remove the entire panel from the front of my car (the panel with the AC control) and that will be interesting to put back on.

this is what i did. i fucked up the tread so i changed over to the bolt thingy. and this screw was soooo tight. my dad trying drilling the screw to break it free. that didn't work (he ended up breaking the drill bit) so then he made a makeshift drill bit piece comprised of a bolt and part of a screw driver and got it free.

final product. no dash kit needed so i was happy.

i didn't need a dash kit. my unit came with a wiring harness and my dad bought a converter so i didn't have to do a crapload of wiring. i got the instructions off The Install Doctor - The Do-It-Yourself Car Stereo Installation Resource and it was really easy. i spent about $90 and a bandage. bestbuy wanted $50 for install and another audio place wanted $70 but both would have said a dash kit was required because of the tiny gap the radio had.Originally posted by decadecadeca View PostI always bought head units from Crutchfield.
They're a little more expensive up front but they include wiring harnesses, dash kits, instructions, etc.....
Worth the extra few bucks.
