I don't remember making a joke in this thread, that being said I have a dry sense of humour. When in Vegas we went to Zumanity, after really enjoying O at Bellagio. The show was supposed to be really funny and shocking, it was anything but. It was like they thought mentioning the word sex was funny and a few trannys on stage would shock everyone. To us it was really like primary school humour, oh look there's a man in a dress hahahahaha! kind of thing.

We didn't get it but then I heard that in America store newspapers and magazines were generally forbidden from showing nudity and this begun to explain why something so lame to a European Country was exciting to an American audience.

In terms of programming I actually used to really enjoy different strokes, the wonder years, cheers to an extent, friends, my lady loves sex in the city, desperate houswives, real houswives of new york. There's not much great comedy in the UK these days but there definitely was.

Films on the other hand, the US has it, Hollywood I mean, the special effects the almost predictable but enjoyable script. Most actors will aspire to the English method actors though.

So there are big differences without a doubt but there's alot That I like about America.

mr i, i think your humor is a little dry but i get why you think it's funny. you're also right about the censorship here in the US and it playing a huge role in what we think is humorous. i've realized that a lot of humor in our US stand up tends to be very sexual in nature and while that makes me chuckle here and there, it gets old after a while.

side note: have you seen Green Wing? why is that show so weird?

if i may here and i will be quick as to not add to the confusion of above and said remarks regarding mr incredibles dry sense of humor ..dna yes its a throw back from old english where words and the meaning of those words meant a ass whoopin or not and by ass whoopin i mean old queens rules in the form of boxing or brawling if need be and no the posts never went that way its just that blokes from ole brittania tend to say what they have on there mind and never mind the bullocks..:) and as of pakistan heritage u must relate how things can change in translation.

Basically because top gear is watered down english humour for an international audience. It used to be great but over the last few years its taken a dive, in england its popularity is begining to fade due to strained bland attempts at comedy where people really want to see cars. Basically it suits your tastes.

then why do i love the old episodes? in your own words it used to be great. just so happens that i love the old episodes where is was just 3 guys having fun with cars. last few seasons have clearly been forced comedy. though the south America special did get back to the magic of old top gear.

so if in your own words top gear used to be great and the old episodes just happen to be my favorite... what was your point again?

your problem is you think you have this great understanding of America as a whole. you classify all American humor as one in the same. you lack the understanding of how varied America can be. just because you have some experience with Americans and humor while you were here, you think you understand me and my humor.

                          exactly.

The US is pretty much the size of all of Europe. Would be like me going to Spain and thinking I know the humor, taste, dislikes etc... of Europe as a whole just because I visited Spain.

Lol that's total crap bro, I've never indicated that I know all about america, far from it. Stop trying to paint a picture that isn't there. I do know how varied america can be but I don't know the characteristics of each state, I can hazard a guess and say basic things like NY is faster paced and perhaps people from other states aren't accordingly as pressured and some feel new yorkers are a breed apart. I can suppose that some of the southern states have more of a religious society base but I don't pretend to know all. You may just be busting my balls here I don't know but if you like the old top gear with tiff and quentin then id say you do get english humour and as to why you don't get mine, well all I can say is half the time you read into my comments as jokes when they arnt lol. But when you post snuff videos and laugh at some guy getting his eyes pulled out and heart ripped out, to call me a bit odd is like the pot calling the kettle black. I will say this though of all the americans I've met, chicks when I travelled as a young man, and people since I've always got along really well, but I will say that in my meagre experience the new yorkers were by far the most bad tempered and abrasive, this didn't bother me but just an observation.

speaking of tiff, Fifth Gear comes on again tomorrow in the UK. they have changed the show a lot, changed it all around and got rid of some of the tools. just tiff, jason, and vicky now.

i am more british then you bitch!

                                tiff is the fucken man!
