So the time line between the two wars was in fact less than a hundred years, so the generation who fought in ID probably had grand kids that fought in the civil war. Bouncer you ancestry can often determine your direction in a war through religion, culture etc etc. Interesting point on the enfield smooth bore buell good knowledge. What is your view on my question then, do you think the brit ancestry was more north or south

If war broke out in America between the north and the south right now. I would be on the side of the North because this is where I was born and raised. Me siding with the North has absolutely nothing to do with my Italian ancestry.
hope that never happens bouncer. the war between the states was often a war between brothers and very costly in terms of life lost. would i change the out come of the north winning the war ? nope i think what we got is not what every body wants but its a dam site better than most. :)

Fact remains though bro. You fight for your home, you fight for where you were born. "Brits" that lived in the north fought for the north and the same goes for the south.

          P.s.

The generation gap between our independence and the civil war was more then just grandkids. It was more like great great grand kids.

Ok so done some further reading and basically since the seven southern confed states declared their independence from th US ore union Britain wouldn't recognise them as an independent nation so I gues the Brits supported the union and the war of independence was lost.

Huge huge huge difference ther genocide is not a war. If it was war between east and west Germany witout religious or ethnic involment it wouldn't matter if you are Jew, Christian or Muslim you'd be fighting shoulder to shoulder against your so called enemy. It's like me who lives in the west coast turkish and Muslim kicking bouncer's ass because he lives in jersey.

That's exactly what i m talking about. Often your ancestry determines you religion, culture, idiology. That was in response to bouncer dismissing the english thing and twisting the thread outa shape lol! I can assure you that if a war broke out in usa tday the muslims would all stick together and wouldn't kill each other

that has nothing to do with your first point. that is simply fighting for your family.

again, that has nothing to do with what you were first talking about. big difference between what the British government recognizes and what the British Americans who were born here fight for.

im not the one twisting shit around, you are, talking about muslims and shit.. please stfu before you hurt yourself.

you dont understand the subject or the culture in America at that time.

british americans who were born here considered themselves Americans, they fought for American issues and American beliefs, they fought for what effected their lives. there were british americans in the south and british Americans in the north, they fought on both sides.

the civil war had nothing to do with religion or your country of origin. it had to do with 2 different ways of life in america.
