Has anyone noticed the influx of advertisements for the Mormon church lately? Is the Church of Latter Day Saints going bankrupt or something? I'm hearing ads on the radio, spots on TV...

I've never seen or heard about them advertising, and am very puzzled as to why now?

I hear advertisements and see billbords for every religion. Most just don't notice the ones that support their beliefs.

Yes Rado- I am fully aware that SOME Mormons have a lot of money. That really doesn't explain the reason for the recent ad campaign though.

Honestly Shib- in my area I have not seen or heard any other advertisement for any other religion than Mormon. Now, I've seen commercials for certain Christian churches, but no sect of religion like this one... (Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran)

i think around 1840 george mormon and the plate migrated to utah . and if i remember well the plate was a source of hope for those folks.. where is mormon muscle to clear this up..?..to each or hers there own.

Most of the responses are so off the wall that I have no idea what you are even talking about.

Redsquirrel, I would say just advertising is why you are hearing it. Not sure why you are hearing it more than usual, but there are people out there that are curious about learning of the LDS church, so I guess they are just trying to get the message out to find those people. As for Mormons having alot of money...the people are no different diversity when it comes to wages as anyone else, but the church itself has tons of money. Hope that answers a little for you.

I have no clue what you are meaning by George Mormon.

We don't marry 12 year olds and we are not polygamists. If you read about polygamy within the mormon church it is not in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it is in The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They have nothing to do with the real mormon church but people don't realize that. Not sure what else to say, but I really don't want a confrontation over this, but I will be more than happy to discuss or enlighten anybody that is curious and doesn't want to argue about it.

If anyone is curious, I'm sure you could google the LDS church's Articles of Faith. That will tell you exactly what we believe.

Oh, we don't have horns on our heads either....that's another good one that people actually believe.:)
