I will be going on to take the full course, think when I'm passed I'll start with a 600cc; honda rr, yamaha R6, ninja or something similar. One day I'll have a ducati but I figure I'll probably drop my first bike so no point spending a fortune

once you ride a duccati you will realize why I down them so much - look top riders on any course no those bikes tricked to the max will win. But they are not great street bikes by any means.

I would recommend staying away from ninjas - they suck

I've owned two R1s , biased towards the r6 - and btw it took me under 30 seconds to dump my first bike, it happens.

Don't recommend hondas unless you go all out - if you could get a gixxer 750 thats a bike you could grow on and move up to whatever - hard to find a good one though. Trust me when I say this - you see these 14k redlines, if you touch that in a 1000cc bike then you are riding hard , i dont know many ppl who even come CLOSE too that on lesser sports bikes - so go 600, or like i said gsx-r 750 is an amazing machine. Good luck buddy, when I'm over there it wil damn winter, but if you can rent em I'd still go for a spin !

So I pick up my GSXR 600 tomorrow, I have an expert coming with me who has worked on bikes all his life, he'll ride the thing back to mine or I may just tell him to take it back to his and give it a good service, can't wait to get my test passed!

just remember its a wet clutch first week everytime you get it rollin or youll be one of many who stares at the sky and ends up banged up quick. abuse the shit out of that clutch it will never damage - but make sure you dont treat that throttle like a gas peddle lol.

makes sense since your bike prolly weighs 700+lbs you would ask lol. I'm saying the power at 3k rpm on mri's bike if he drops the clutch will toss his ass off, and the clutch wont burn out like a car.

What's a wet clutch? And hat reve should I take it to before slowly releasing the clutch?

motorcycles have clutches in oil - they cannot burn so you literally ride the clutch on a sport bike like that just release it slowly and you will start to move, put your feet up, throttle slow till you are used to it - half the battle is just realizing how much power compared to weight you have on that bike. I mean if you ever truly push it you better fucking be safe - I'm not going to hear that you took that thing out and dumped it because you used the rear brake instead of front and fishtailed over the damn road. It takes a little info and little time to learn to ride - it takes a lot of time (normally) before you realize just how much machine you have now.

also - keep it in second gear for like 3-4 days , i know it sounds weird , but that way you will feel how quick you can go if you give it any freedom and you only have to focus on the ride not shifting - it sounds childish since you drive a standard, trust me ive seen it save plenty of ppl.

Thanks art, tbh I thought you would have used the rear break firt to avoid sumersaulting over the bar, that's how much I know. I picked it up today and its at my mates who's servicing it and putting new front brake pads on and steam cleaning it. The bike looks sexy as hell
