My father used the lemon law a few years ago. Got a Chevy Silverado and the drive shaft was making noise for some reason. After I think it was 6 times of them fixing it and not solving the problem, they gave him the full amount he paid for it so he could go get whatever he wanted. Needless to say he bought a Ford F250.

This is a laugher... are you serious? German carmakers have been rated the worst for reliability. Drive them for performance, fine... but reliability? I don't think so...

In fact, 3/4 of Audi models had below average reliability. On the other hand, more than 90% of Ford models had above average reliability.

I don't know anyone personally that did lemon recently, but supposedly a couple years back the govt made some changes to make it easier for consumers, because of the recession.

My brother tried it about 10 years ago and kept getting hit with things that "weren't under his warranty", so after putting in a lot of money to keep it running he couldn't make the car payments and had to do a voluntary repo.

Don't know when the changes were made but it was in 2008 when he went thru the bullshit.

Lemon law is a real hassle. It has to be the EXACT same issue 3 times. A coworker had issues with is brakes on an Xterra a few years back he had that piece of shit in the shop a couple times a month all for brake issues, but he couldn't do the lemon law initially because they would always say it was something different.

In the end, after about a 10 month battle he finally cashed in on the lemon law but he still had to get another Nissan.
