  • Rant for today: east indians and curry

Ok what is it with indian people and fucking curry? My wife just calls me and said the apt and whole building smells like curry. For those that doesn't know what curry smells like think of a sweaty fat person with bad body odor. There should be a rule of no cooking smelly ass foods in apartment complexes.
We also have a chinese family downstairs that loves to cook with cabbage. I mean for christ sake you know this shit smells bad and the odor travels. You live around other people have some damn respect. My wife almost vomited she said with being pregnant and the heightened sense of smell.

It's not the same as that at all. I'm talking about the scent and the smell. This is like one of the only things that is so damn potent it travels through walls. I'm not saying indian food is terrible, I like some as well. But dont use the damn curry. It smells like fucking body odor.

its exactly the same. to other people that are from a different country and different culture italian cooking might smell as bad to them as curry does to you.

I do get the point, but be considerate and open windows so it doesn't permeate through the halls and other peoples places. We do that when we cook so it doesn't stay in the apartment.

But I don't get how the fuck smelly body odor scent would comfort someone. Makes me want to puke.

Dumbasses don't know how to cook. We cook Indian food and it doesn't smell any more than anything else. In fact, I can smell the garlic and pesto when my wife cooks Italian more when I open the front door to my house. People use too much flavoring to compensate for their lack of cooking skills.

When in doubt, add another spoon or two of garam masala... :retard:

i think it's south indian cooking. my aunt lived in an apartment complex full of them and they would open up their doors to their apartment and then it would stink up the entire place. the problem is that they use the strong stuff. the kind that will stick to you and won't go away until you take a shower. there isn't anything you can really do to rid the smell except wait it out.

All brown people smell, I thought that was common knowledge.

North Indian cooking tends to use more aromatic spices than South Indian cooking. There is no equivalent for garam masala in South Indian cooking. Regardless, if you do it right, you won't create any more smells than any other cooking. People tend to add way too much spices while cooking in the mistaken belief that it enhances flavor. Unfortunately, all it does is kill the intrinsic flavors of the ingredients and stinks up the joint. Cooking should be done with subtlety, not with a heavy hand.

Yea i don't like the smell either, but honestly it shouldn't cause you to get this upset over it. the smell won't be there forever, it will pass in a day.
