Did you see the animation? Pretty amazing watching how the fatness evolves from 1985 to 2009....

It's the midwest and the south... New England and the West are a little better although nothing to be proud of.

It is pretty pathetic. A lot of shit needs to change, but I doubt it will.

Americans love to sit around all day, collect government checks, smoke cigs, drink beer, and fucking stuff their fat fucking faces with fast food. It amazes me that the "poor" people I see are all fucking fat, odd paradox there.

The local paper posted a picture of a stupid church giving away food to families in need, everyone in the picture looked like they have never missed a meal. Most looked like they usually have 8 meals a day.

I'd be interested in seeing those graphs when normalized for income. I bet the difference is minuscule.

I watched this show on PBS that touched on a lot of this. Lower income people have a high level of obesity because of the food that is govt. subsidized. The food that is the worst for us is the cheapest because of the way the govt. contracts it somehow. They showed how a family could choose between buying a head of lettuce or a cheeseburger for the same price. Jamie Oliver showed exactly how this happens in schools. The cheap highly processed stuff is cheap because of govt. contracts. Even if schools want to change their menu they are fighting corporate greed and contract obligations.

Just a few things since this is based on BMI it is suspect. I agree most people don't know how to eat. I eat 6 to 8 meals a day and I have a BMI of 34 and I hope to get to 35 or 36 in the next year or so. B those pics you posted are sad.

BMI is a perfectly reasonable metric for most of the population. Don't see what the issue is. Yeah, it doesn't work for athletes and bodybuilders which is what? 0.0001% of the population?
