surgery oct 11

i get surgery on oct 11 for the hernia behind my belly button ... doc is going to put a double layer of mesh in there ..

anyone ever have it done and if so how much downtime did you experience ??

It's a little different, but my youngest son is having surgery Sept. 30 for a hernia type problem. He has a hydrocele. The urologist says it's the second most common surgery they do next to circumcision. Not really relevant, I just though it was ironic in a non ironic way :D. Are they doing local or general anesthesia for you?

I'm actually relieved by you saying that. The biggest worry I have is about any surgery is the general anesthesia. I'm happy it's not just an age thing. I hope you understand how much hearing that comforts me. :)

A friend of mine who is an MD himself had the surgery, he began light upper body work, one week after the surgery and light leg work three weeks after. By six weeks he was good to go.

B , it has actually has been pretty good ... no real problems so i opted to wait before cutting into it ... aslong as it stays the way it is now i will avoid the surgery :)
