I'm not saying I know everything about Texas football. What I am saying is that if you talk to die hard longhorn fans and fans around the team and on their message board, nobody is all that impressed with Gilbert so far, nor this team this year. It is being viewed as a rebuilding year and you are talking about how great Gilbert is and about "winning out" - so that tells me your thoughts about the team don't align with the majority of the die hard Texas Longhorn fans. Maybe because you don't live there anymore, you just don't know that much about the team this year, so I'll give you a pass - as long as you admit it and stop talking out of your ass about such silly things like "winning out" during a rebuilding year.

I watch everything I can obviously, but what I notice him versus other QB's is the reads he makes. It literally reminds me of Payton, but an amateur version.

Garrett Gilbert is so overrated, one wonders if the coaches will knock around the idea of starting Case McCoy or at least giving the true freshman quarterback meaningful snaps. Gilbert doesn't see the field, makes poor throws, forces passes into bad spots and doesn't have control of the offense. He has thrown eight interceptions and only six touchdowns, and was nearly picked off at least three other times by the Cyclones.

Shibby, wow man. In all honesty, even I didn't think Texas would be this bad. Everyone always wanted Greg Davis fired, but now it seems like they are turning against Mack Brown too. Said once he got that 5 million contract extension he gained like 70lbs and is now just sitting around like a fat cat as if he doesn't even coach the team anymore.

In my opinion, Mack was always an average coach at best and a master recruiter. He won all those games due to talent. I mean, when they won the national championship, did he even do anything? Or did he just stand there and let Vince Young be superman..... Mack is finally being exposed as a fraud coach because he doesn't have the Colt Mccoys and Vince Youngs to bail him out anymore. It's getting real real ugly.
