Is it normal for newspapers to publish home sales?

The local newspaper has a part where they name all the home sales. They listed our first and last names, address and sale price. There were about 15 totals house sales listing the equivalent info.

some do and some don't --- i would inquire about why they did and that you would have appreciated it if they would have let you know ahead of time so you could have asked to please not post such info as now everyone knows who lives at that address ... IMO that's not cool at all in this day and age !!!!

Not cool in this day and age? I would say it would be more acceptable in this day and age. We have access to so much data with just a few keystrokes, you are already planted firmly on the grid, them posting that in the paper isn't going to change a thing.

It is public info. I agree it must feel weird seeing that but if someone wanted that info they could just look it up with your addy.

Taxes are paid up to date at closing dumb ass and the rest is escrowed into the mortgage. :tired:

Obviously my biggest frustration with the whole thing is you never know what people are looking for as "their perfect target" and with have to very young kids it made wish I had the money right now to install a state of the art security system.
