Never used net gear. Personally I have used a Linksys wireless router for 3 years and never had a single issue. Signal is always strong, security is easy to set up, and the customer service was great the time I lost my security key.

Had Netgear for years and it worked fine. Had Linksys for years and it worked fine. Can't go wrong either way -there are anecdotal complaints with both but the vast majority of people seem to be satisfied with either.

I got the Cisco Valet and am happy with it. Only had it a little over a month now though.

I prefer linksys simply because it's open source code so you can download free software and mod the settings. You can crank up the wireless power from 28dbm to 241dmb.

Everythings made like shit from china but ive help people setup these models. All about the same... you want a dual-band (5Ghz and 2.4Ghz) wireless routers with Gigabit ports.
