I like links like this just to piss off my Christian family and friends, lolIronic that if you search for "religion" in post titles the vast majority are threads started by non-believers.Originally posted by the art of war View PostI just can't do organized religion / threads regarding it anymore man - shit drives me bonkers - I'll stick with my good ol long term liabilities homework and let the numbers make sense, cuz this shit sure doesn't.
Personally, I am agnostic. I have no clue what to believe. All I'm saying is that if you are sick of hearing/talking about this, talk to your fellow religion-bashers that are continually creating the threads.

I cannot get past the fact that something cannot come occur from nothing. So to me a higher power is needed. After that, I'm a sloppy mess lol. The simplest cell has to have a start, a "creator", any scientist can tell me a thousand things but bottom line until I see someone who can make shit appear from NOTHING (mind you no oxygen, no universe, nothing at all) - then cmon.. there is something we simply do not know.Originally posted by The_Grinder View PostIronic that if you search for "religion" in post titles the vast majority are threads started by non-believers.

and your higher power came from nothing? lol.Originally posted by the art of war View PostI cannot get past the fact that something cannot come occur from nothing. So to me a higher power is needed.
e = mc2
basically energy can turn into matter and vice versa.
there was no matter in the beginning. it was simply energy and pressure, nothing in terms of material etc...
when the energy and pressure got to great, energy exploded and made matter. that is the science of it. hard to wrap your mind around it but that is how it works.

As far as higher power coming from nothing - I think that's the point of faith in it homey, just like faith in science or anything that cannot be FULLY proven .
I'd say the best scientist has faith in his work .. he, however, can make a hypothesis ... theorize - basically he can boost his faith in what he believes because of tangible reasons. Which is perfectly valid.
I just am not sure about this stuff bro, not arguing one way or other - just not sure.

explain to me what you think nothing at all means. really try to paint a picture in your head of nothing at all. there is no such thing. nothing at all is something.Originally posted by the art of war View PostWhere does energy and pressure come from though ?
in terms of the beginning, there was space. space in an of itself is a vastness of nothing. just black nothing. now imagine everything we know of in the universe all packed into a space the size of a single atom. can you imagine the pressure? the pressure of nothing creating energy.
the science of it is actually far more amazing then some god making everything.

that's an interesting way of looking at it - something I never heard at church growing up... that's odd :retard::rofl:Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postexplain to me what you think nothing at all means. really try to paint a picture in your head of nothing at all. there is no such thing. nothing at all is something.

I'll have to think on that homey, I honestly need to research it more. Pretty damn solid from the outside - breaking down that sort of a concept though I really want to be able to grasp it like you put it, and then see the science of it, whether book or what have you.
Any good reads on this ? You obviously have formed an opinion - all ears.
