  • Sirius/XM anyone?

Anyone still using satellite radio? I had a head unit before the Vette. (Had to quit using it on the Vette because the magnetic antenna didn't stick to the fiberglass) I still have this headunit sitting around, but last time I checked Sirius had jacked up the prices. (I guess the merger took away any competition)

Anyone get any good deals lately? I have the headunit sitting around and I must admit I miss listening to Howard Stern, Jason Ellis, and some badass rock & sports channels.

Yes I miss Jason ellis also. And yes they will give you a deal but you would have to sign up at regular price first. then let it cancel they will call and send you letters with deals. It was pretty good from what I remember. I didnt do it cuz I am not in my truck as much so it didnt matter to me.

I still have it. The price is still the same it used to be, but you can definitely get deals. Last time I renewed I got it for less than half the price. Call them up and say you are looking to resubscribe. If they give you an outrageous price, say no thanks and see if they will give you a deal. Latest deal I saw for resubscribing was 5 months for $20.

they tried calling me like 3 times before my free trial expired. the last time they called they were so desperate they offered I think $15 for 6 months.

i kept saying, "i wouldnt use it even if you gave it to me for free". they didnt seem to understand as they kept offering me a "deal". lmao

We have it on both our vehicles.

If you only drive short distances it's not worth it, but on long trips it's great.

I flip back and forth between the decades channels, O&A, Ron and Fez, the news, sports, talk, hits, cinemagic, etc....

Way more options and much less work than loading all that shit on an MP3 player and trying to keep it fresh.

for long trips like when we drove out to Chicago i downloaded a bunch of podcasts that i like and just listened to those through the car speakers.

fuck paying for shit like that. same with HBO and all those prem channels, if i want to watch a show i will just download the HD torrent.

my momma raised me to be a cheap ass!

I would just get bored too easily with limited options.

I like having 100+ channels of completely random choices.

what limited options? there are thousands of pod casts.

cars, science, sports, sex, bodybuilding, travel, food, whatever you want.

True but you can't have thousands on hand at a time, and it takes time to pick them, sort them and download them.

I get in the car and flip around the channels with my remote just like at home.

you can get more podcasts on your iphone/ipod then you could listen to in a month.

i would rather take the 15 minutes and get exactly what i want to listen to and and get it for free then pay a fee.

You really are a cheap bastard.

My time is money. I would rather pay the small monthly fee and not have to bother with the download bullshit.

I really only listened to about 5 channels on it. Lithium was a great 90's rock station. Granted I could download all of the songs but they played shit I hadnt thought of in years. Octane was a great rock channel that played shit I never heard on regular radio, that was 10x better than the mainstream shit. I hate hearing Pearl Jam, Breaking Benjamin, and Metallica OVER AND OVER again when I turn on a rock station.

Plus Jason Ellis and Howard are the two most entertaining show hosts I have ever heard.

Basically I was paying $6 a month at one point, and they tried to bump it to like $15 a month before I dropped it. I'll probably give them a call this afternoon. I get nervous when they say $(X) for 6 months. That just means they are waiting to horsefuck you like a waffle twat on the 7th month.
