  • Stink Bugs

Do you guys have these? Man they are nasty little bugs. I live in PA and they are horrible. We had a few around last year but the end of this summer they came hard core! When it’s warm out we will have thousands of them on the house. Nothing you can do about it either. You can spray and kill them but then the next day you have just as many. Glad it’s starting to get colder out because you don’t see them around in the cooler weather. One bad thing about living in the country. Oh well, I’ll take that over city life any day.

Heard of them but none here at all. What do they look like?

They look prehistoric. Creepy looking bugs. They don’t do any harm. If you crush them they do have a unique odor. Almost like an ammonia type of smell. You’re not to crush them because the smell draws more of the bugs in.

I see it all over the news and people talking about it. Oddly enough I have only seen a handful around my house.

According to the health department here, smashing stink bugs doesn't attract more

I FUCKING HATE THEM. we've had them for years down here. this year they've been particularly bad. all summer i couldn't crack my windows when i parked my car because i didn't want them getting in. at one point i think we caught like 40 or 50 in my house. not fun. vacuums come in handy but i just do a catch and release.

You are supposed to kill all of them; it is a nuisance problem; they came over from china. The health department is currently looking for bacteria that could cause in infection in the bugs to kill them off. It is a serious growing problem in the Penn/Maryland area.

$100 says whatever they use to kill the stink bugs will also kill other things and cause more harm then good.

Well it's all about opportunity costs; I mean you don't wanna have a situation like cane toads in Australia

I just want them gone man! At this point I don't care what they use. Thing is you can kill them but the next day you have just as many. Luckly we have a new house so there aren't any cracks or places for them to get in. I know people in the area that have older homes and they are hundreds inside the house.

One stink bug can lay 600 eggs in the spring so exponential expansion is outta control.
