  • Skyline Drive Virginia

Yesterday 10/17/10 was Skyline Drive hosted by Volkswagon of America. There was a good turnout. Pictures are slowly being posted, so I'll post a few here and there.

We drove 2.5 hours down to western Virginia and drove up a mountain and peaked at 3400ft. Beautiful scenario.

The drive from the base of the mountain to the top and than back down to the other side of the mountain is 100 miles. We did that in about 4-5 hours. Spent a total of 14 hours of driving and spent $65 on gas. Left at 6:00 am and got home at 7:30pm

The speed limit is 35 mph :lmao:

My buddies and I were taking turns at 80 mph and most of the time there was no rail, so if you lost control you pretty much go down, lol. Nearly shit myself about a 100 times, but thanks to good suspension and tires, i was good

If you follow the top line of the mountains...that is a ridge.

Where they dip along the ridge and rise up again (like a pair of tits), that is a saddle.

The elevated lines (if you will) running down from the ridge line are your spurs.

The lines running down from the ridge line between the spurs are called draws.

Forgot the add I drove 430 miles in one day, the most in my life actually.

I also destroyed my front pads and rotors, shits are warped like a motherfucker. Stopping it makes the loudest noises ever, fuckin go deaf. I am happy, so now i can upgrade to slotted and cross drilled rotors and Hawk HPS Performance pads, followed by Motul brake fluid

I guess they closed it off to cyclists for your event?

                              FUCK NO!

Saw so many of them in the middle of the road. So pissed. we're going at 60mph and than bam like 3 of them fuckers in the road. Got annoying because we would follow them at 10mph until the left lane opened up and than we passed them all.
