In the last week I have gotten like 12 calls on my cell.

I have signed up with the gov's do not call list but was wondering what the fuck has caused the sudden influx of calls?

If you signed up before 2008 (don't remember what month) there was a term limit for how long you stayed on the list. SO you would have to sing up once again. But it is now permanent

is there anything you can do about someone calling your phone all the time? one is debt collector with the wrong number and the other is HS kid fucking around. i threatened both with physical harm LOL but it still happens.

I get calls to the house phone daily, about 3-4 a day. My cell phone, never, maybe once every 3 months. I have both my cell phone and home phone numbers registered to the national do no call list, I did that early this year.

WIth the debt collector, ask them who they are and who they work for. Then inform them they have the wrong number and you will be calling an attorney for the harassing phone calls. That should stop them since I recently read some debt collection company had to pay over $100,000 for for harassing.

No. And I never had 1 telemarketer call for the past 5 years on my cell. All of the sudden I get 4 a day.

i have a number who's area code is typically a landline. but i rarely get telemarketers.

telemarketers apparently use something like an autodialer which just randomly dials numbers (and this is illegal). and apparently it works in such a way that people with the same first 5-6 digits of your number who live in that area are probably getting the same call from the same company around the time you are. there isn't anything you can do except the do-not-call-list.
