Presumably the picture was taken from inside a vehicle, it it was me id have swerved and blocked the bear, give the bison chance to get away

My thinking was the bison had a good jump on the bear, and the bison is almost past the truck when the photo is taken; so my thought is the bear will probably get spooked by the truck.

I only think the bison might have got away, because my friends has these DVD on the wildest hunts ever caught on tape, and you wouldn't believe how many times the prey gets away.

Agreed. Much quicker and less brutal than dog fighting or those Tiger Farms in China where they feed them livestock for spectators. Sucks for the Bison, but at least the Bear isn't trying to kill for the sheer amusement of it.

Well the bison was not mauled; it got burned by a hot spring in Yellowstone; They shot the bison to put it out of it's misery. If the was the end result they should have let nature takes its course.
