  • My Law school application process

So my the schools that I may go to is Yale, HArvard, Stanford, Columbia, NYU or Georgetown. I am waiting to hear from the other schools. My numbers will likely allow me into NYU and probably Columbia. Y/H/S is a shot in the dark. Overall I am content where I stand

if you get into all the schools which will you choose? i know a good amount of people in Georgetown and i know a few that graduated from NYC and Yale. i know someone who went to Columbia then transferred down to Georgetown because they didn't like the environment or something? :wack: i don't know. either way, congrats!!

If I get into Yale/Harvard/Stanford I go there period. I'll be close to $200,000 in debt coming out but the above schools a degree from the above schools are worth triple that.

If I get into Columbia, NYU and Georgetown, I'm lening towards Columbia. But scholarship money may play a part in that.

At worst I should get into NYU and Georgetown. Then it'll be based on my visits to the school and where I will feel comfortable.

There are other schools I applied to, UPenn, Cornell, UVA. But short of a full scholarship, Georgetown is above them

Very impressive resume. Congrats. I know some Harvard, Yale Law grads ... just don't go off and become an asshole like them! The world doesn't need anymore egos.

Top 3 are random. Numbers matter, but it is not the whole case for those three schools. Yale could fill their 200 student class with scores of 175 and above along with a 3.9GPA and above. But they don't. LAst year the rejected someone with a 180 and a 4.0. Perfect scores and they were rejected. Granted they accepted others with perfect scores, but the fact the being perfect is not good enough is astounding.

The top 3 schools look at their classes like a choir. You need different voices and different roles to make a great class.

once you get into the post undergrad education, the admission factors become completely random. which sucks. i hope you've been doing your extracurriculars sir!

It's not just that. Right now, our Supreme Court is made up entirely of Harvard and Yale law school grads. (Ginsberg went to Harvard then transferred to Columbia). Please don't act like you "own" access to the law. The rest of us might have brains too ... but don't quote me on that. At the very least, we are all citizens.

I have leadership roles up the yin yang. But I have one very big red mark on my record. I am a white male
