Let me ask this... Is it about domesticated/pet dogs or any canine animal? Hypothetically lets say there was some video about a wolf, dingo or African Wild Dog. Is that the same?
you should watch a show they just aired recently on PBS. it was about humans and dogs. talks about human and dogs genetics etc...

the saying "mans best friend" is more then just a saying. humans actually have it in our genes to care for and look out for dogs and vice versa for dogs. humans and dogs have stood side by side for at least 15 thousand years and we have actually become connected with them on a cellular level.

so to answer your question, its comes natural for me.. its is my instinct to be much more protective over a dog then other wild animals.

Is it the canine species or what people would call a dog instead of a wild animal name?

its more about domesticated dogs then a wild wolf.

they did some experiments on this show with wolf pups at the same age compared to domesticated dogs like boxers, rottweilers, german shepards etc..

the wolf pups do not respond at all like the dog pups do. they dont look at humans in the eye, they dont have the urge to want to make the human owner happy etc..

same thing goes for human babies and how they respond to wolf pups and dog pups. the baby human does not respond to a wolf pup like it does a dog pup.

its really pretty amazing shit, it shows that both dog and human are actually wired to work together and be a protector of each other because of the thousands of years side by side.

she was only looking out for her young one !! the dogs owner who you can hear screaming should have run the deer off .. the deer was only looking out for her family ... i pass on moms with little guys in the woods ..

You gotta give the cat credit though; the deer punked the cat; so then the cat was like oh yeah and give the deer a quick left hook. The dog on the other hand never saw it coming. If you read the notes for the video the dog was left only with a temporary limp.

I always see hippies with bumper stickers that say why can't people live peacefully like animals?

Animals are more violent that people; look what happened there.
