We are going to New York the beginning of January (6 days this time) and were wanting to take a trip to Carlos Bakery. Is there good and bad times to go? Is worth buying some baked goods while there?

weekdays early in the day (before lunch 11am) or afternoon (2-4pm), line should only be around 15 minutes.
if you go on the weekends or weekdays around lunch time you will be in a line for an hour.
if you want my opinion, its a tourist trap.
if you want a real Italian bakery where real Italians go you want doms bakery. best breads you ever had in your life.
of course you want fruity cakes and fake ass pastries like a faggot tourist so go to Carlos... :disagree:

doms is more about italian breads.Originally posted by Shibby View PostDoms have cakes and stuff to? I watch Cake Boss with my son so it would be fun to take him to the place he see's on TV. We could go see Carlos and buy from Doms.
its not a desert place.
go to both, trust me, you never had bread like this.

poland has nothing on Italian Bread makers. and thats what we have at doms and a few other places in jersey and NYC. so in that sense, Polish bread is not better.Originally posted by Shibby View PostMagda will be able to judge it well. She loves breads and she can easily compare to US breads to Poland breads. Obviously the Polish breads are way better.
if you are talking about the average garbage in a grocery store, then i agree.
Magda can only judge polish bread. she knows not about the fine art of italian bread. :weights:
