Need a new home laptop

What do you guys recomend?

Well its really, for; internet, some word, picture and video storage in the main, no gaming on a laptop, budget about £800 max, id prefer to spend no more than 600

You can pretty much get anything good for cheap now in laptops. My only suggestion is don't get an HP.

Funny you say HP is garbage I have had no problems with mine at all and it is still blazing fast; even Vista works fluently. And it was only $600.

Bought my HP last year on black friday, works great. I love it. Its a 17", Windows 7 64-bit, 6 gb ram, 320gb HDD. Only downside is its single core. Other than that, the best $300 i spent.

yea well my HP was a piece of shit from day one and stopped working well before all the others computers i have had.

they load your computer up with BS, dont supply a true operating system disk (only the one with all the HP shit on it) etc.. etc..

bought 2000 dells for a customer. work fine just not impressive at all. gets the job done the display is absolutely lame. The other manufactuers like Lenovo's 15" display is kickass. i do like the dell tablet (using it now).
