  • I made my decision

First I was thinking buy a CTS-V, then I moved onto a Corvette, But I made my final decision. I'm gonna build my '68 camaro into a serious street competitor.
Basically, it is going to be the shell of my '68 but that's it.

I am going to build a whole new chassis, suspension, and brakes, put an aftermarket 5 or 6 speed transmission, (TCI just came out with a 6 speed paddle shift for GM cars.) I wanna get 315s to fit in the rear and 255s for the front. I'll run the racing standard of rearends the 9-inch I have not decided on a differential probably the tru-trac, the gear ratio I will pick will be decided by the transmission naturally. The motor I already have is a 454 it will pushing 600 horse and torque should be over 550 lbs ft. Right now as it sits it has 525 horse with 630 lbs ft., thats way too much torque that comes in around 3,000 rpm in a car that only weighs 3000 lbs. I'm gonna start the project in the Spring right now I am starting my build sheet. All I know is this things is going to make a lot of people look very foolish on the street.

oh shit Kontiz. Sounds like a fun project, have fun bro.

A few of my friends are into building old 5.0's into 10s drag cars. I can't find any fun in that. i prefer taking turns at 100mph and having the car stable.

I found the base chassis I am gonna build off of; I don't have the capabilities to bend box tubing , but a company sells full-frame bare chassis for the car; I can start with that then go from there. This one shows the LS7 setup in it.
