what does exit strategies have to do with a world war? a war with china would not have exit strategy on the agenda.Originally posted by blm View PostNothing dumb about it. Sure we have military might and technology, but we don't have exit strategies. Dismantling Iraqs military and entering an actual war with China backed N.Korea is nothing in comparison.
and by the way, china isnt exactly best friends with north korea, there has been less and less contact between the 2 and this latest incident has pretty much embarrassed them. i would say that the US is closer in relationship with china then north korea is..

Anytime you engage in a conflict, battle, war, etc you have to have an exit strategy whether you plan on occupying that area or not you still have to temporarily set up theater. The typical arrogant mentality of running in and walking out has proven inadequate.
We're definitely close to China, we're significantly in debt to them. Both leaders are unpredictable communist nut jobs.

I agree with Bouncer; you don't go at North Korea looking to occupy them...you smash their military capabilities with tomahawks and carpet bombing runs on all their military installations and their dug-in artillery batteries.
As for China, do you really think they'd back North Korea, a dirt-poor shithole....and risk alienating their biggest debtor and their export business cash cow, the USA? They'd sooner invade and crush North Korea themselves; the Chinese are smart nowadays, they know it's 'all about the Benjamins'.

That's the problem. We don't just unleash hell from the skies and walk away. We get roped into playing bob the builder and moral messenger.
I agree 100000000000% we need to just blow the country off the planet. Hell when I was over there there were places that pumped their raw sewage into the rice paddies and streets. The fkn Romans had closed sewer systems.

I just read through this thread and nobody mentioned Russia. They border Korea and are involved in this - it isn't all about US and China. Who do you think Russia would back if China took NK's side? China and Russia have a much friendlier relationship than most know. That's where the complexity comes in.

But like hitman said China would be dumb to back N Korea against the US. With everything we owe them they have alot to lose. China wouldn't stand a chance against us and whoever backed us and that debt would be wiped clean away.Originally posted by Juiced1 View PostI just read through this thread and nobody mentioned Russia. All of the countries that could be possibly involved have far too much to loose if they went against America. What would China do if they stopped selling to America? Japan? We are the largest supplier of steel to Russia take away the materials to build and what will they be able to do? America really is the world's life-line.
What is coincidental though, is remember what pulled this country out of the last economic depression? WWII.
