I always like watching the show about Everest: Beyond the Limit on the discovery channel; I was disappointed not to see it on tv this year.

Too much work to bring the bodies down. I think they just found Mallory'a body 5 or so years ago up there and he had been dead something like 50 years.

They don't even look for bodies here on Mt Hood. A couple of guys died on Hood 2 years ago and they haven't even bothered to look for their bodies. Too dangerous.

They leave bodies up there when they're not even dead yet, even Bear Grylls did that, left a guy freezing to death to just die, big tough bear grylls

It's a fine line - it's not like you can carry someone on your back when you are at 25000 feet and barely surviving yourself. That being said, there has been some callous disregard for human life in the recent past on the high mountains - too much focus on personal accomplishment and not enough on what's happening around them.

I'm not talking about one person carrying one, but there have been instances where like eight guys have walked past one guy near death and just walked on saying they couldn't help him. Fuck that there's eight of you, put him on a make do sled and drag the fucker with rope tied round his arms and legs round tight ledges, if he dies on the way down so be it.
