    POWER RANKINGS

    1 Kansas City Chiefs
We knew that was going to be a tough game at Oakland, but letting Marques Tuiasosopo do what he did in the fourth quarter is a concern.

    2 Minnesota Vikings
That offense is going to be tough to stop, especially at home. They are the class of the NFC right now.

    3 Indianapolis Colts
A week off after their first loss will be good from a health standpoint. They have to get Edgerrin James healthy.

    4 Seattle Seahawks
They almost laid an egg against a bad Bears team, but rallied with a late touchdown drive.

    5 Dallas Cowboys
Yes, they are ranked this high. What a coaching job by Bill Parcells.

    6 New England Patriots
This team could have folded after all the injuries, but they've flourished. Again, credit to the coach.

    7 St. Louis Rams
They are going to be a factor in the NFC West, no doubt about it.

    8 Tennessee Titans
Does any team tough it up like the Titans do on the road? They dominated the Panthers.

    9 Carolina Panthers
They lost for the first time, with their flaws exposed by the Titans. This is a team limited on offense.

    10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Suddenly, that defense is having problems stopping people. Can it be turned around?

    11 Denver Broncos
Down to the third quarterback, this team is in big trouble. Let's see Mike Shanahan magic now.

    12 Miami Dolphins
When your team can't score points, you are going to lose games you should win like Miami did against the Patriots.

    13 Buffalo Bills
That was an important bounce-back game for the reeling Bills. Now, can they keep it up?

    14 Green Bay Packers
The dome curse lives on for Brett Favre, but it's more than that. The defense has coverage troubles.

    15 Philadelphia Eagles
Sometimes it's the games you shouldn't win that get a team going. The Eagles better hope so.

    16 San Francisco 49ers
Maybe this team does have life after what they did to the Bucs.

    17 Baltimore Ravens
That was an inexcusable showing against the Bengals. The defense was surprisingly the problem.

    18 Cleveland Browns
How in the heck do they lose at home to the Chargers? Here's how? They aren't that good.

    19 Pittsburgh Steelers
A week off will be a good thing for this team that saw two key division foes lose Sunday.

    20 New Orleans Saints
The offense is getting on track at the right time as the team tries to get back in the playoff race.

    21 New York Giants
The season is on the brink for this group. Can they turn it around? Not with that offensive line they can't.

    22 Washington Redskins
After that fast start, they are fading quickly. When does it start to get ugly for coach Steve Spurrier?

    23 Oakland Raiders
That was a nice effort Monday night, but that matters little in the won-loss record. Making the playoffs isn't happening.

    24 Cincinnati Bengals
We love the direction this team is headed. They won't be a pushover for any team.

    25 New York Jets
That might have been a season-saving drive by Vinny Testaverde against the Texans.

    26 Houston Texans
They're a much better team than the 2002 version, but that was a tough loss to the Jets.

    27 Atlanta Falcons
It's getting worse by the day. They can't stop anybody, and they will have a new coach next season.

    28 Chicago Bears
Playing close games on the road isn't going to keep Dick Jauron employed.

    29 Jacksonville Jaguars
A week off will do this team well, but they return to play a tough Tennessee team.

    30 San Diego Chargers
That was an impressive victory on the road against the Browns. Now, can this young team start to play well?

    31 Detroit Lions
That early season progress took a big step back in losing the way they did to the Cowboys.

    32 Arizona Cardinals
They didn't even play, but fell to the bottom spot with the Chargers winning. Ouch.

I get the feeling that the Rams are gonna keep moving up that list....there's a team chemistry forming that wasnt' there before...coping with injuries seems to be bringing the players together. If Faulk comes back at 100%, look out for these guys.

The Vikes might be a lot lower than that, depending on how they respond to this loss.

Should be KC, Titans, Vikes, Rams, Colts, Panthers now for the top 6.
