Whatever you do do not buy a computer with an amd processor. I had an hp laptop with an amd in it and that pos never worked right and it killed itself last thursday. Went and got a Sony viao with an intel 3i processor,4g memory and 500g hard drive from best buy. Initially it was $749 then it went on sale for $699 last weekend so I went and got my price matched.
Wait you said desktop. My bad. :D

My hard drive crashed after 4 years, I called apple...$300 bucks, I called a local computer store...$300 bucks, I then watched videos on youtube and read tutorials. It seemed to be fairly straightforward if you have done some internal computer work before. this is good, 23-inch WLED backlit display. has the touch screen technology which youll never use but looks cool. if you can max out the memory I would I think it comes with 3GB but can take 8GB which isn't good enough in a year or so.
