Places around NYC and London are almost as much representative of the Countries as well I'm sure. Just that much of their populus are commuters to NCY and London respectively. All I'm really saying is that when you get out of the capital cities you can usually see more of the countries persona/culture. Capital cities are similar the world over but outside them countries vary vastly.

New Yorkers and Londoners are viewed differently by ther rest of the countries than the rest of the population. Same goes for Parisians in France

Agreed but you can't say the south is the real America.

The north east (not just the cities) have a very different culture.

The west is very different from the south and the north east.

The mid states again are very different from the others.

America is far to big to say 1 region is representative of every region.

gotta think of america the same way as Europe.

the north is as different from the south as england is as different from france.

the way we think, food we eat, talk, etc... are very different.

Just to bring the size of the US into perspective and to show how truly far away we are...

From New Jersey to Mobile Alabama is 1220 miles, driving time = 19 hours and 55 minutes.

From London England to Rome Italy is 1150 miles, driving time = 18 hours and 20 minutes.

you are closer to rome then i am from alabama. that should give you some idea about the scale and how much difference that kind of distance can make.

London to Athens Greece (pretty much the width of all of europe) = 1850 miles, 34 hours driving time.

New York to San Francisco = 2910 miles, 47 hours driving time.

LOL, how much in common does england have with greece mr I? because you are 1100 miles closer to greece then i am from California.

And Boston is nothing like NYC, Philadelphia is nothing like Chicago, Los Angeles is nothing like Miami etc....

Arizona looks nothing like Colorado, Vermont looks nothing like Idaho.

My point is that we are a vast nation with Many differences.

We do not fit into any 1 category.
