  • Laptop Charging Help

I bought my HP G71 Laptop Black Friday 2009. About a month ago, an issue came up, whenever i went to charge it, it wouldn't charge. I kept unplugging and plugging it in, and nothing. So i just kept it plugged in and 15 minutes later it finally started charging. It stopped for a while, and than the issue started up off and on, but after a few minutes of the charger being plugged in, it worked.

Today, it finally crapped on me. I had plugged in for 2 hours and it didn't charge.

The charging indicator does not turn on, and the computer doesn't recognize the charger is plugged in. Usually 2 light indications come in. I don't know if its the battery or the A/C Adaptor. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmmmmm let me think....it's either the charger or the battery but since the light would come on when you plug in the charger even with the dead battery. And since there is no light coming on it means your charger is shot. Go buy a new one or try to barrow one from someone who has a dell laptop and see what happens. (I'm guessing most Dell laptops have same chargers)

Shut down the laptop with the battery in and plugged in.
              Remove the battery.
              Reboot the machine.
Wait for Vista to come up and show the power icon.
              Reinstall the battery.

Fixed it. Its my fuckin A/C cord. There is a loose connection somewhere and you can hear it crackle and pop as it gets connection while its plugged in. Fuck it, i'll keep and play with it until it finally dies.
