  • Thoughts on Gun laws and the whole Arizona shooting ordeal.

Do you guys think it should be a little harder to get a gun in america? Seems like that kid that shot those people had no trouble at all getting a gun. Seems like maybe a psychiatric evaluation should be needed before people can buy a gun.

I would bet that if a professional sat down and talked with this kid before he bought the gun, they would have seen a bit of insanity in the fucken kid.

Trust me, I am all about blaming the person and not the weapon but I feel like its just to easy for any nut to buy a gun.

    Thoughts?

It's easy to get a gun no matter what. Make the laws tougher and that will make it even easier to get one off the black market or wherever. In all honesty I don't think there's anything that can be done to make it less accessible to get a gun.

No one from Jersey gets to question gun laws.

      GTFO.

        Yea I guess.

Just to be clear, I am not anti gun. Hell I wouldnt mind having something like an MP7 if i had property to shoot on. But living in a city environment just makes it pointless.

            This is from reddit,

            Australian here:

To an outsider this obsession with rationalising gun ownership seems infantile. Surely our innate desire to salivate over heavy weaponry is more than catered for by the likes of CoD:BO, MW2, BF2, etc. Is it really that important for you to have actual weapons?
For example: every time an actual gun injures or kills in self-defense, it is used: 11 times for completed and attempted suicides, 7 times in criminal assaults and homicides, and 4 times in unintentional shooting deaths or injuries.*
How can you justify this? Are you guys really ok with actual death and injury in the name of supposed freedom?
Could I suggest there are better ways to freedom? Like a vibrant public sphere that holds elected officials to be responsible for their decisions and isn't dominated by corporate interests? I know it's not as exciting having your own gun, but maybe it is safer?

As said above stricter gun laws would do nothing to decrease availability or violent crime.

Pull stats for violent crime in states with shall issue carry laws and compare with states that ban ownership.

                  He's a kangaroo hick.
99% of legal gun owners know what they are doing. I think maybe making it mandatory to have a license for every type of gun would be a good idea. Therefore you then have proper training and care for a loaded weapon.

While I agree with what you are saying, I also have to point out that in almost every case of these shootings like arizona, school shootings etc.. the person got the gun by legal means.

Yea, I sort of look at it like a drivers licence.

Its to easy to get a licence in america, bunch of fucken morons on the road. In germany it is much harder to get a license, drivers have to take all kinds of classes and tests etc.. the result is a much better and responsible driver.

Shit look what they do up in either Sweden or Norway to get your license. Now that's the way to get a license.

i think if i were in charge of gun laws i would require all buyers to take a month long class on how to use and be responsible for the weapon. during that class, the mental state would also be evaluated.

if you are a normal person that just want to exercise his right to have a gun then fine, no issue.

if for example you are a curtis, you get thrown into the nut house immediately. :lmao:

I agree 100% with that. If hunters and pistol owners have to get a license and take a course then every gun owner should.
