if the buyers agree to pay, than why not. This would put a slight curve in who gets a gun legally and illegally. The people who the money to spend will get their gun the proper way. The people who don't have the money would buy it off the streets.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postthe buyer would have to pay a "training and license" fee.
lets say $250.00 per user per gun.

I wouldn't go per gun. Just do it like they do for pistols. One permit then add guns to that permit. And if need be then make like a $5-$10 fee to add a gun after a certain number is reached.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postthe buyer would have to pay a "training and license" fee.

That's been the problem since early in the 20th century. I remember seeing a quote somewhere that went something like "if media was never around, this world would be a much better place." It's definitely the media that causes alot of the issues that plague us today with the ideas of people like that Don Hootin for example.Originally posted by ROCKETW19 View Postdont let the media get you all hyped up.

if there was no media, goverments would be even more corrupt, less accountable then they are now and the public would be clueless to the events of the world.
the media has a negative side, but its benefits far outweigh its negatives.

exactly, and what the fuck you need 5 guns for anyway? if you want more guns you gotta pay a fee. if $25 is to much for you then maybe you shouldnt be spending all your money on guns.Originally posted by Timma View PostPerfect because in the whole scheme of things what's another $25 tacked on to $250 or so already?

Governments will be corrupt with or without media there's no doubt about that. I agree they are less corrupt with media, but that's not what I was getting at.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Posti disagree 100%

I'm talking about everyday issues such as steroids, guns, race issues, stuff like that. The media loves to paint a picture that they feel is the right way to portray it. Then you get people involved like Jessie Jackson who use it to their advantage and get everyone going against each other. Putting the blame on the wrong people and not seeing all sides. I feel the media negatives outweigh the positives.

Did anyone watch Bowling for Columbine? I hate Michael Moore, but I watched like 10 minutes of this movie. I caught the segment on comparing gun deaths between America and Canada. He started by asking people in Canada who owned a gun. EVERYONE owned at least one, and usually multiple guns. Yet the gun related deaths in Canada were less than 200 annually while the gun deaths in America are over 11,000 annually.
Guns should be harder to get, but if you make it too hard, people will get them illegally. (Think about it, is marijuana hard to get?) There is some disconnect between America and the rest of the world that makes us act the way we do. I don't think gun control would change much of anything.
