      LOLWUT....

For a guy who claims to "believe in physical scientific proof" you just laid a giant non-scientific turd right there.

          meh....

The Earth's orbit around the sun is changing and the axis of the Earth is changing. With the effect of those two, we're going into a warm cycle.

and what does that have to do with a reversal of the magnetic poles? :retard:

Look DNA, you can believe what you want. But just be honest and say that you get your science from television and the internet. Do not spout crap like I need physical proof, etc. etc. Did you say you were studying science in college?

Do you know the difference between correlation and causation?

The magnetic fields around the earth primarily deflect the CHARGED particles from the solar wind. That's what causes things like the Auroras in the polar regions.

The magnetic fields do NOT affect heat and electromagnetic radiation. They have no effect on the radiation reaching the earth's surface from the sun and the resultant warming of the earth.

I think you are getting your information from a television program that insinuated (based on 1 study) that the magnetic field movements CORRELATED with the temperature cycles of the earth. But this doesn't prove CAUSATION. In fact, it is more likely that the temperature effects caused the magnetic field movement and not vice versa, although I have not seen followup studies either way.

Quit getting your science from bullshit sources. Put your brain in gear and do critical thinking. Question easily spouted theories that are dogmatic and not verifiable and fly in the face of evidence. If you want to be a man of science, that is.

You are a smart dude, B. I have been on this board for almost 6 years and you are definitely a critical thinker. You have curiosity and a keen inquiring mind. You really should consider science as a career option.. :)

not believing in just that one thing i said. That's something i got off the Discovery Channel one day and it made sense. I never properly researched all the claims.

Yes i am a science major.

LOL... I have been here 6.5 years. I was trying to choose between saying 6 years and almost 7 and ended up typing almost 6.

You know what they say, mathematicians do their best work before they are 35 years old. If you are a mathematician and you haven't done anything profound by the time you are 30 to 35, you might as well pack it in.....

                            And I am 44, so I'm glad I'm not a mathematician.

Fine... but it is one thing to say "I heard magnetic field change could also influence global warming" and quite another to say "There however is proof of the Earth's magnetic fields changing. That is what is causing this "global warming. Humans didn't do shit except for destroy the ozone layer and fuck up with pollution."

Be a skeptic, a critical thinker. Read, read, read. From credible sources though.
