      +1000.

This is the biggest problem with the middle eastern countries. Tools like GWB, Rush, etc. will tell you that the middle east hates America, blah, blah, blah. Utter garbage. The idiocy and self-importance of these guys is so incredible - not everything is about America.

The population in the middle eastern countries is young and they have NO future. Unemployment is super high and there are no prospects. So, kids grow up into young men, realize that they have no jobs, no future. They are prime candidates for being brainwashed into terrorism.

The leaders in the middle east have totally failed their people. Yet we (Western countries) continue to prop up their dictators who have done nothing for their citizens. No wonder America is hated there - they view America as simply maintaining the status quo for its own ends at the expense of the people.

What we need to do is to encourage and support the people to their path to self-determination. It needs courage on the part of the western leaders to step away from realpolitk. Once the people get popularly elected people in place, we need to forget about their political orientation and focus on increasing their standard of living.

Believe me, nobody who has a reasonable standard of living and actual hopes for the future is going to blow himself up. Terrorism will naturally die out if we can manage to do this. The sad thing is that this is really easy to do - all we lack is the political will to do it.

It only shows me that its all as valid, or invalid, as the next. So they are protecting a bunch of people who they believe are in an act of blasphemy.

If they were just acting out of sheer humanity instead of a facade I would give them all the credit they deserve.

Its good when religions can come together without conflict.

Could you imagine what the world would be without Christians? All the money generated to help people and serve others is unbelievible.

Just FYI, Egypt is not in the Middle East. Realpolitk's is necessary at times and in this case was essential to stave off further wars with Israel. Prior to our friendly relationship with Mubarak, there were 5 major wars that involved Israel and Egypt...since then, not one. It's naive to think that we can hold hands with every country out there and "make nice" and do what's right for everyone. It's a nice thought, but unrealistic.
