Trolling can actually be a positive in the sense of trolling for newbies, sometimes I might ask a question on something because I'm generally interested in knowing what other people do or think even though I have a reasonable idea already as to what the answer should be.
Some people troll for newbies in the sense of asking a basic question "what protien is best" that will appeal to the masses and potentially recruit new members.

Without sounding like a big crying vagina, it makes up 50% of the bloody forums.

survive in terms of a profit to pay for its servers etc.. absolutely.
we have a ton of traffic coming to the site from the search engines etc.. sponsors pay for that traffic. gen chat has nothing at all to do with that.
what your asking is, "would general chat be less active". the answer to that is yes it would be less active but thats what gen chat is here mostly. its people ripping on each other and having a good time doing it.Last edited by Bouncer; 02-09-11, 08:22 AM.

No forum would. You can only write or read so many times about how much test should I take a week, or how many chicken breast should I eat.
Imagine when you log in every thread is named "How much test should I take?"
I actually stopped going to a Mt biking forum because every other thread was" what's the best Mt bike for a beginner around 400 bucks?" for fucks sake there is only about five bike manufacturers makes decent beginners bike and and they are pretty much all the same go buy one of them. My every reply was " use the search button" and I got sick of doing that pretty quickly so I left.

there will always be new people that are just getting into it an want to read all that stuff like "how much test should i take". those people are actually the key to the money side of a site like this. they are coming from the search engines and driving up the sites search engine rankings etc.. essentially making the site more valuable.
on the other hand, there are the regular members that visit the site for different reasons like me and you. its sort of a place to hang out etc..
think of it like a gym. the gym survives on those people that come to the gym sign up and never come back. the regulars at the gym that never buy the shakes, never pay for the personal trainers etc.. those assholes (you) dont help much. :DLast edited by Bouncer; 02-09-11, 08:31 AM.
