The forward to that part is I walked by them about a block earlier and one of them lunged like he was going to jump me...but did not. I just kept walking thinking he was some type of insecure ass.

And maybe 2 years ago that would be true...even maybe a year ago. However, not anymore. I am going to take some mixed marital arts classes for fun and never again will I think nothing of hearing someone running up from behind me again.
