  • Direct TV vs. Digital Cable

it might be a bit late to be asking this question and maybe i am having a little buyer's remorse, but someone tell me - which do you prefer? i ordered my recievers and they're on their way to me... but now i feel like i should have gotten digital cable.

the digi cable packages from cablevision are more expensive than direct tv but - part of me feels like something still not quite right about satellite television...

We have direct tv and it's fine. The only problem comes when you start adding in more tv sets and need more receivers. We only have 2 receivers but we've got 5 tv's so we only have 2 different stations on at a time. The sattelite will go out for a little while during our summer t-storms, but sattelite goes out less than cable did and it always comes back within minutes instead of hours like cable.

            Direct -tv by far

heres the deal I have had both ,, the fucking digital cable has this little delay everytime you turn the channel is is so damn annoying .. i couldnt take it ... had to go with the direct -tv ,, I love it.. get the free 6 months packages they give ,, and then every 6 months switch back and forth between direct-tv and dish network ,, I have switched 3 times back and forth ,, it is a good gig

wut six month packages? i'm too lazy to scam like that - to change and switch and keep up when my "deal" is gonna expire.

teek - i didn't know you were this type of frugal :p

frugal hell .. Baby I am cheap .....

it is no big thing though ,, shit they give you everything free ... they come hook it up ,, and give you the equip .. ,, I do it more cus I am bored really.LOL I dont even know how much the shit costs ,,it pisses me off that they only take care of their new customers ,, there is no loyalty to existing customers with these bastards ,,, Nextel is the same fugging way .. I have been with them at least 6 years ,, and I never get any free offers ,, and I alwasy pay full price when I get new phones ... this is how i fight back

it's about market share. from a business perspective, it's better for these companies to show that they are gaining share (from an investor point of view) by getting new customers. what a lot of these companies have forgotten is that customer retention (socket retention) is just as important because as they see their share increase on the front end, they get "savvy" (cheap) customers who are erroding their marketshare on the back end by leaving.

the deal i got for the new recievers locks me into a one year deal with Direct TV. and i'm always calling sprint to threaten to cancel my service and they give me some service credits or a new phone. you can try that if you are annoyed with nextel :p

Ummm quit being so smart ,, it is intimidating to simple minded guys ,,, smile , jiggle . and giggle , ... LOL

I hear you .. and it is correct as far as they way they think ,, but there has to be customer loyalty .. if you do not take care of the people that take care of you .. you will always attract new customers that are not loyal .. the old slow dimes or quick nickels business . mentality ..
